About Us and You
Festival Place is located in the heart of Basingstoke Town centre and is very much part of Basingstoke's community. Last year the centre donated in time, space and permissions the equivalent of £290,000 to local organisations, charities and non profit making organisations.
Charity Collections – Festival Place is happy to host charity collections in the shopping centre. In order to ensure we can accommodate as many charities as possible we have a policy of allowing 2 collections per month and each charity has the opportunity to come in to the centre once during the year. Permission to collect will be granted from Festival Place in the form of a letter or confirmation e mail. Charities will be asked to complete an application form that covers the centre's Health & Safety requirements and should be returned to the centre along with a copy of the Charities Public Liability insurance. Once this has been received a Permit to Collect needs to be sought from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council and a copy of this sent to Festival Place to complete the application process. This area allows local charities and non profit making organisations to raise awareness of the role they play in the community and the service they offer. The Hotspot needs to be manned the same hours as the shops are open. The centre will provide a display unit for an organisation to use. Sponsorship and Prizes – Festival Place has a very small sponsorship budget which is currently allocated for 2008 to Shopmobility. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide prizes for raffles, fetes or similar. If you are seeking a prize, please contact a retailer of your choice direct. Retailer contact details can be found on their individual web pages. The Centre adopts a chosen charity each year to collect on behalf. The choice of charity is determined by the Managing Agent at Head Office level. This year we are fund raising on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society.
Work Placements – Festival Place works with the Basingstoke Consortium to offer year 10 students work placements. Students are offered a two week programme of activity within the Centre Management office. For information on Work Placements, please contact the Basingstoke Consortium on 01256 840710.
Talks to Local Groups – Members of the Festival Place Team are happy to arrange talks to local groups about any aspect of Festival, for example, our Recycling Initiatives, History of the Centre or a Festival Place Update.
